11 perfect places to use your Dine & Discover vouchers

Fellow residents of Sydney and NSW. It has been a very distracting 12-24 months, so you would be forgiven for forgetting that the NSW government gifted you witha total of six $25 vouchers to spend on dining and entertainment experiences. But now that you’ve remembered, how will you spend them?

Designed to encourage the community to get out and about and support dining, arts and recreation businesses, the Dine & Discover NSW are your ticket to fun at no extra cost. You can use them at thousands of restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs, museums, live music, and arts venues around Sydney and the State, seven days a week.

If you haven’t used yours up yet, you’ve got until the end of June 2022 to cash those bad boys in!

We’ve selected some of our favourite things you could spend yours on and listed them below.

If you’re not a NSW resident and don’t have the good fortune of free vouchers, we would still highly recommend you check out any one of these experiences regardless. They are all great value and worthy of your coin.

Taste Food Tours

Not only will you get a unique food tour taking you to some of the most authentic restaurants in Sydney, with Taste Food Tours you’ll also be supporting a charity and social enterprise providing training to Australian migrants and refugees and local youth. A good starter is the Taste of Sydney which explores Sydney’s newest dining delights in Barangaroo and The Rocks. If you want something a little different, try the Taste of Chinatown tour in Haymarket or Taste of Afghanistan and Syria tour in Merrylands (if you’re willing to travel a little further).

Catmosphere Cat Cafe

What better way to spend your voucher than on cats? Catmosphere is a cat café (yes, that’s right) in Surry Hills and is 100% dedicated to supporting rescue cats and kittens. Spend some playtime with your new feline friends over a beverage or two. Or book in for their Catflix Cat Cinema. A cute cat, some popcorn and a good film, what more could one ask for?!

Local Sauce Tours

Drink and discover your way around Sydney on a secret bar crawl with Local Sauce Tours. Over four hours, you’ll explore Surry Hills and Darlinghurst’s small bars with a guided group of locals and travellers. It’s a great way to try some new places and meet some new people. If you prefer eating, opt for one of their other tours covering Newtown, Pyrmont or Chinatown

Employees Only

Take a step into New York at Employees Only, a buzzing hidden cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. Feast on some of their delectable menu items over a carefully-crafted cocktail. And, if that wasn’t enough, don’t miss the burlesque dancers on the bar every Friday and Saturday night.

Sydney Harbour Tall Ships

Cruising around on yachts is so 2021. Why not see the Sydney Harbour on a pirate ship? Sydney Harbour Tall Ships offer a range of tours on their 1850-style tall ships from casual sightseeing to champagne brunch cruises. Try your hand at steering or helping with the sails or sit on back and enjoy the views.

The Tea Room at QVB

Anyone for high tea? Use your voucher towards high tea at one of the best spots in Sydney, The Tea Room in the Queen Victoria Building. Set in a historic location bringing European inspired grandeur to Sydney, this high tea uses Royal Albert fine china and offers a selection of sandwiches, scones and pastries made by an award-winning patisserie.

Australian Maritime Museum

Delve into maritime history at our neighbours across the road, the Australian National Maritime Museum. This museum has a range of exhibitions and events sharing Australia’s maritime history, stories, people and places. The best part? You can climb aboard some of the ships and check them out for yourself.

24 Hours In Sydney

Whether you’re on a time limit or have all the time in the world, 24 Hours In Sydney runs a range of exciting tours across Sydney. Take a walking bar tour to discover hidden bars across the city or get your history on with Skirting Sydney; a tour dedicated to pioneering women in Sydney’s history.

Auvers Café

If brunch is more your thing, take a walk to Darling Square and try Auvers Café. Auvers is a French-inspired café known for their artistic dishes and seasonal menus. Whether you’re in the mood for a burger, a slice of cake or a cocktail with Van Gogh’s face on it (why not?), there’s something on the menu for everyone. Plus, we can’t lie, it will look great for the Instagram.

Sydney Opera House

If you’ve never seen a show at the Sydney Opera House or it’s been a while since you visited our city’s pride and joy, your Discover voucher can help with that. The Sydney Opera House is accepting vouchers for all of their shows and if that’s not a good excuse to take yourself out to the theatre, we don’t know what is. With shows like the musical theatre hit, SIX the musical, and Shakespeare’s Hamlet, there’s a range of great shows to catch and see at a discounted price.

Wayfarer’s Bar & Café

Our very own solution to your drinking and dining needs, stop in at Wayfarer’s and redeem your Dine voucher and enjoy a hearty breakfast with a freshly-brewed tea and cold-pressed juice, a big slice of salted caramel mud cake with cream and a coffee, or a bunch of bites to go with one of our signature cocktails.
